Mutant has been appointed as the public relations partner for Beyond the Label (BTL), a nationwide movement in Singapore focused on tackling mental health stigma and advocating for the social inclusion of individuals with mental health conditions.Under this appointment, Mutant will deliver strategic communications counsel and manage earned media relations for BTL across its various workgroups, which focus on carers, children and youth, seniors, and the workplace. Additionally, the agency will design PR strategies for public education campaigns, handle issues and crisis communications as necessary, and enhance the movement's reputation and visibility across Singapore.Andrea Chan, BTL Representative and Group Head of TOUCH Counselling & Psychological Services, noted that combating stigma extends beyond mere awareness. "Addressing mental health stigma requires more than raising awareness," Chan said. "It means helping people understand how stigma is experienced and giving them the confidence and practical knowledge to seek help or support those around them."Lina Marican, Regional Managing Director at Mutant, emphasized the agency's goal to make these discussions more relatable. "Our role is to translate a complex and deeply personal issue into stories that people can recognise themselves in, which can help shift both attitudes and behaviours," Marican stated.(Source: telummedia)
