Citigate Dewe Rogerson (CDR) has appointed Fergus Herries as Managing Director and Head of Hong Kong, strengthening its leadership team in one of Asia's most significant communications markets.
In his new role, Herries will oversee the growth and development of CDR's Hong Kong business, leading the local team while supporting the consultancy's strategic ambitions across Greater China and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
Herries brings more than a decade of experience in strategic communications consulting in Hong Kong, advising clients across financial institutions, professional services, technology and real estate. Before transitioning into communications, he began his career working in finance in London, providing him with a strong understanding of capital markets and corporate affairs.
He joins CDR from FleishmanHillard Hong Kong, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President. During his time at the global communications agency, Herries provided senior strategic counsel to multinational and regional clients navigating complex communications challenges, corporate reputation management and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
His appointment comes at a time when Hong Kong continues to reinforce its position as a leading international financial centre and gateway to mainland China, creating growing demand for specialist communications advisory services across financial services, technology and professional services sectors.
CDR has a long-established presence in Asia-Pacific, operating offices across Beijing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, Taipei, and Tokyo. The consultancy advises clients on corporate and financial communications, investor relations, public affairs, crisis communications and ESG strategies, serving organisations ranging from multinational corporations and financial institutions to governments and industry bodies.
The Hong Kong office remains a strategically important market for the consultancy, particularly given the city's role as a global financial hub. CDR's client portfolio in the region spans banking, asset management, insurance, real estate, professional services and technology sectors, reflecting the increasingly interconnected nature of corporate communications across Asia.
Herries' experience advising organisations across multiple industries is expected to support the firm's continued growth in Hong Kong as businesses seek integrated communications strategies amid evolving market dynamics.
His appointment also highlights the sustained demand for senior communications leaders with deep regional expertise as agencies continue investing in talent capable of advising clients across increasingly complex stakeholder environments.
