Walmart Communications Chief Allyson Park to depart

Walmart Chief Communications Officer Allyson Park is set to leave the retail giant early next year, with the company planning an external search for her successor, according to Bloomberg News.Park, who has spent more than three years at Walmart, will transition to an advisory role on September 1 and leave the company on February 1, 2027, Bloomberg reported, citing an internal memo.During her tenure, Park worked to strengthen the integration of communications with other areas of the business. Walmart also expanded its communications team and increased its use of artificial intelligence, according to the memo.Park played a key role in communications surrounding Walmart’s leadership transition last year, when John Furner succeeded Doug McMillon as CEO.Before joining Walmart, Park held senior communications positions at Yum! Brands and Mars.Her departure comes as Walmart undergoes several senior leadership changes. US Chief Operating Officer Kieran Shanahan left in July, while Sam’s Club COO Tom Ward and Walmart US store operations head Cedric Clark departed in May.Walmart did not immediately comment on Park’s planned departure.
