Independent global agency W Communications has expanded into Malaysia with the launch of a dedicated local team, appointing Kiersten Chaik as country manager to lead the market and drive growth.Based in Kuala Lumpur, the Malaysia team will deliver senior counsel and day-to-day support across consumer, corporate and integrated communications. The operation will work closely with W’s Singapore headquarters to provide coordinated regional services.The expansion marks a deeper commitment to the Malaysian market, with plans to scale operations across consumer and corporate mandates. The agency said it will support integrated campaigns spanning earned media, social and key opinion leader partnerships as it builds its physical footprint in the country.Chaik brings more than 15 years of experience in agency and strategic communications. She previously spent over seven years at BCW, where she served as executive vice president, managing director and market lead. Her experience includes overseeing consumer and corporate briefs, brand launches, executive profiling and reputation mandates, as well as coordinating multi-market programmes.Robin Chang, general manager, APAC at W Communications Asia, said the move reflects growing regional decision-making and investment in Malaysia, adding that clients are seeking senior counsel with both local expertise and regional connectivity.The Malaysia launch forms part of W’s broader APAC growth strategy. The agency said it will take a phased approach focused on senior leadership, speed of delivery and integrated capability, while remaining closely aligned with its Singapore hub.
