Melbourne-based PR and communications agency Wrights has promoted Rika Rufina to the role of Communication Manager as the agency continues to strengthen its integrated communications, issues management and Asia-Pacific capabilities.
In her new position, Rufina will oversee a portfolio of corporate and consumer retainer accounts, leading integrated campaigns that combine public relations, social media and creative communications. She will also work closely with Chief Executive Officer Douglas Wright and General Manager Reena Llanillo to develop and execute issues management strategies for clients.
Rufina joined Wrights in August 2025 as Senior Communication Consultant, bringing experience from both agency and in-house communications roles across the Asia-Pacific region, with particular expertise in the Singapore market.
Announcing the promotion, Wright credited Rufina's impact on the agency and its clients since joining the firm.
He said her leadership and results had made her an important part of the agency's continued growth.
"Rika has delivered strong results. I look forward to working more closely with her and the Wrights team as we continue to deliver ingenious and impactful communications, anchored in authenticity and positive change," Wright said.
He added that the agency's growth was being driven by its people and culture.
"Our secret sauce is simple: ingenious thinking, brought to life by a talented and ambitious team. Rika's promotion is another important step in strengthening our team and setting Wrights up for its next phase of growth," he said.
The appointment comes as Wrights expands its communications team. Alongside Rufina's promotion, the agency has elevated Charlotte Dickson to Communication Consultant and is set to welcome Annabel Chambers as PR and Social Coordinator, reinforcing its capabilities across public relations, social media and integrated communications.
