Prajesh Kalathil exits Airtel after 23-year career

Prajesh Kalathil has announced his departure from Bharti Airtel Limited after a 23-year career with the telecom company.Kalathil joined Airtel at a time when mobile phones were primarily used for calls and SMS, and went on to hold leadership roles across B2C, SME, enterprise and government businesses.In his most recent role as Enterprise Business Head, he was responsible for the enterprise business. His experience at Airtel also included serving as Senior Vice President and Business Head for the enterprise business, where he managed the P&L for enterprise and government operations across Tamil Nadu and Kerala.During his tenure, Kalathil worked across business operations, sales, distribution, customer acquisition and enterprise solutions. His responsibilities included leading teams, driving business growth, managing customer relationships and expanding the adoption of digital products across areas such as cloud, cybersecurity, CPaaS, IoT, SD-WAN and private LTE.Prior to his enterprise leadership roles, Kalathil served as Vice President and Business Head for Emerging and Enterprise Business, managing operations across Tamil Nadu and Kerala. He also held the position of General Manager and Zonal Business Manager, overseeing sales, distribution and customer acquisition across multiple product categories, including mobility, fixed-line services, DTH and Airtel Payments Bank.Reflecting on his 23 years with Airtel, Kalathil highlighted the company's evolution from 2G to 5G and from voice and data services towards digital and AI-led technologies.He also credited the people he worked with, including leaders, mentors, teams, customers, partners and colleagues, for shaping his professional journey.
