Vedanta Power Ltd has appointed Roma Balwani as an Independent Director, according to information confirmed by industry sources.Balwani brings over four decades of experience across the corporate sector and is known for her work in brand strategy, communications and organisational leadership.She currently serves as an Independent Director at John Cockerill India, formerly known as CMI FPE Ltd, where she also chairs the CSR and NRC committees. She has also recently joined the board of Godavari Power & Ispat Group.Earlier, Balwani held leadership roles at Vedanta Limited, where she served as President and was responsible for the group’s brand strategy initiatives.Her professional journey also includes associations with Mahindra Group and Aptech Limited.Apart from her corporate responsibilities, Balwani serves as the pro bono CEO of the Indian Deaf Cricket Association and is an advisory board member at TeamLease EdTech.
