Publicis Groupe Asia-Pacific has appointed Naomi Michael as Chief Communications Officer for the APAC region. In this role, she will lead the group’s regional communications strategy across markets and capabilities.Michael will report to Jane Lin-Baden, Chief Executive Officer, Asia-Pacific at Publicis Groupe.Michael joins from Omnicom Media, where she recently served as Head of Brand Marketing as part of its APAC leadership team. Prior to that, she was Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at IPG Mediabrands, a role she held for nine years.The newly created position reflects Publicis Groupe APAC’s focus on strengthening its communications capabilities across the region.Michael brings more than 20 years of marketing and communications experience across corporate and media organisations in Asia-Pacific, Australia and the UK. Her earlier career includes roles at Zenith in London, The Walt Disney Company, and The Financial Times. She has also held agency leadership roles across Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore within Interpublic Group and Omnicom Media.Beyond her professional work, Michael is a founding executive council member of Pass Her The Mic, an initiative aimed at amplifying women’s voices globally. She is also a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity International and serves on the Myanmar Chapter Board of Pencils for Kids, supporting access to education for children in developing communities.Commenting on the appointment, Jane Lin-Baden said Michael understands the role communications play in building alignment and momentum across diverse markets and will be an important partner for the organisation’s growth in the region.Michael said she was impressed by Publicis Groupe’s investment in AI, data and transformation, adding that the creation of the role reflects the scale of growth in APAC and the ambition for the future as the company marks 100 years.
