The Public Relations Institute of New Zealand (PRINZ) has appointed Leigh Harris FPRINZ and Jill Dryden FPRINZ as co-opted members of its Committee, while Dryden has also been elected Chair of the PRINZ College of Fellows.
Together, Harris and Dryden bring seven decades of experience spanning public relations consultancy, stakeholder engagement, crisis management and strategic communications. They join elected Committee members Celia Crosbie, Travis Logan, Cherish Wilkinson, Leigh Catley and Perzen Patel.
Harris is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Convergence Communications, which she has led for more than 20 years. A PRINZ Fellow, she has advised private, public and not-for-profit organisations across New Zealand on reputation management, business strategy and complex issues.
Dryden brings almost 40 years of experience in public relations. Her career has included senior practitioner, managing director and shareholder positions at agencies including Porter Novelli, Star Public Relations and Network Communications.
She has also advised organisations across New Zealand on corporate relations, issues management, crisis communications and stakeholder engagement.
PRINZ Committee Chair Celia Crosbie welcomed the appointments, saying Harris and Dryden would bring extensive experience, sound judgement and a strong commitment to the profession to the institute's governance.
Crosbie also congratulated Dryden on becoming Chair of the College of Fellows, describing her as well placed to lead and advocate for the Fellows community given her experience and longstanding contribution to public relations.
The appointments strengthen the senior industry expertise represented on the PRINZ Committee as the institute continues its work supporting communications professionals across Aotearoa New Zealand.
