Engineering, architecture and urban development consultancy SJ Group Hongkong has appointed Giles Harrison as Director, Communications & Marketing – Buildings + Cities, strengthening its global communications leadership as the company expands its focus on sustainable urban development and integrated design services.
Based in Hong Kong, Harrison will lead a global communications and marketing team responsible for strategic communications, executive positioning, thought leadership, digital communications, and brand engagement for SJ Group's Buildings + Cities business.
Harrison brings nearly two decades of communications experience spanning corporate affairs, financial communications, reputation management and integrated marketing. He joins SJ Group after a 14-year tenure at Weber Shandwick, where he most recently led the agency's Corporate and Financial Services practice in Hong Kong. During his agency career, he advised multinational corporations, financial institutions and listed companies on corporate reputation, executive visibility, stakeholder engagement and strategic communications.
His appointment comes as SJ Group continues to expand its international presence and deepen its expertise across architecture, engineering, urban planning and smart, sustainable city development. The company, formerly known as Surbana Jurong Group, rebranded to SJ Group in 2024 to unify its global identity while continuing to operate across Asia, the Middle East, Australia and other international markets.
