Paroma Roy Chowdhury has joined APCO Worldwide as Senior Advisor, marking her return to the consulting space with a focus on public affairs, policy communications and strategic advisory mandates.
Chowdhury shared the update through a LinkedIn post, stating that she will work on multiple industry mandates with a particular focus on technology and tech-enabled organisations, alongside select government projects. She also noted that advocacy and policy communications have become an increasing area of interest for her in recent years.
Founded in Washington DC, APCO Worldwide is a global public affairs and strategic communications consultancy with operations across multiple international markets.
In her post, Chowdhury said she is looking forward to working with Valerie Pinto, who recently took over as Managing Director of APCO India.
Prior to joining APCO Worldwide, Chowdhury served as Advisor Outreach at Ashoka University.
Over the course of her career, she has held leadership roles across media, telecom, technology, education and startup sectors. Her previous stints include roles at BYJU'S, Google, Bharti Airtel, Dream11 and Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
She has also worked in business journalism and financial services, with experience spanning strategic communications, reputation management, advocacy and public policy.
Chowdhury described the move as a new chapter focused on creating lasting impact through policy and communications work while continuing to prioritise strategic communications and reputation building.
